Notice: You must have Administrator privileges to run the JetDrive Toolbox.


3. Getting Started

NOTE: Do not manually delete or alter the contents of the “JetDrive Toolbox” system folder.

  1. You do not have to install any software on your computer to run JetDrive Toolbox. Download JetDrive Toolbox from the Transcend Download Center (https://www.transcend-info.com/support/software/jetdrive-toolbox) and extract the entire contents of the zip file to your computer. Double-click on the “JetDrive Toolbox.dmg" icon and drag the "JetDrive Toolbox" icon to the "Applications" folder. Double-click on the "JetDrive Toolbox" icon to launch the software.

  2. After launching the JetDrive Toolbox software, you will be asked to input your Name and Password in order to obtain root privileges.

  3. You may also find the version information of the JetDrive Toolbox from the Toolbar on the upper left corner of the screen, by clicking on "About JetDrive Toolbox".


4. JetDrive

These functions support Transcend JetDrive Solid State Drives only.

1. Viewing JetDrive Information

Display standard JetDrive information of any supported Transcend SSD.
  1. Select "JetDrive" from the Main Menu.

  2. View the SSD information.

2. Viewing S.M.A.R.T. Status

The Health Status value is displayed in percentage format. The value of a new SSD is 100%, and decreases over time as the SSD is used more and worn. S.M.A.R.T. is an industry standard storage device monitoring technique used to detect possible hard drive failures before they occur.
  1. Select "JetDrive" from the Main Menu.

  2. Select "SMART" from JetDrive Page.

  3. View the Health Status of the selected SSD.

    (The amount of S.M.A.R.T. status fields displayed depends on your model.)

3. Firmware Upgrade

Check whether your firmware is up to date.

NOTE: Please make sure you are connected to the internet.

  1. Select "JetDrive" from the Main Menu.

  2. Select "FW Update" from JetDrive Page.

  3. Select "Download" to download the latest firmware.

  4. After downloading is complete, the firmware is saved to user's "Download" folder.

  5. Click to unzip the file. Follow the instructions in "SSDFirmwareUpdateUtility_user_manual" in the User’s Manual to complete firmware upgrade.


5. JetDrive Lite

Supports Transcend JetDrive Lite expansion cards.

1. Viewing JetDrive Lite Information

  1. Select "JetDrive Lite" from the Main Menu.

  2. View the JetDrive Lite information.

2. Power Saving

Power Save helps you save power by automatically ejecting your JetDrive Lite before the Mac enters Standby mode and remounting it when the Mac wakes up.

  1. Select "JetDrive Lite" from the Main Menu.

  2. Slide the switch to the "Enable" position if you want to automatically eject JetDrive Lite when entering Standby mode and remount it when Mac wakes up.


6. JetDrive Go

Supports Transcend JetDrive Go flash drives.

1. Viewing JetDrive Go Information

  1. Select "JetDrive Go" from the Main Menu.

  2. View the JetDrive Go information.

2. Online Recovery

Recover your JetDrive Go online to its original status. If your JetDrive Go flash drive is not working properly, in most cases, you may repair it instantly by using the online recovery function.

Note:1. All data will be permanently erased.2. Please make sure that you have a well-working network connection before running Online Recovery.

  1. Select "JetDrive Go" from the Main Menu.

  2. Select "Online Recovery" from JetDrive Go Page.

  3. Click "Start" to start the recovery process. Warning: All data on JetDrive Go will be permanently erased.

  4. After the recovery process is completed, un-plug and then re-plug JetDrive Go back into your Mac.

3. Format

  1. Select "JetDrive Go" from the Main Menu.

  2. Select "Format" from JetDrive Go Page.

  3. Fill in the corresponding information, then click "Format".

  4. After the formatting process is completed, users can view the new information.

4. Disk Lock

View and manage the data on your JetDrive Go with more protection.

For user privacy and improved data security, the JetDrive Go comes with a password protection function that allows you to lock/unlock JetDrive Go when you access it on an iPhone. A set of 4-digit numbers is required for the password. You may enable it via the JetDrive Toolbox software on a Macbook, or in the JetDrive Go App on your phone. If the password you enter is not in the form of 4-digit numbers, you will not be able to click the "Lock" button.

To Enable JDG Lock:
  1. Select "JetDrive Go" from the Main Menu.

  2. Select "Disk Lock" from JetDrive Go Page.

  3. Enter the password (4-digit numbers only)

  4. Click "Lock" to start the disk-lock process.

  5. After the locking process is completed, un-plug and then re-plug JetDrive Go back into your Mac.

To Disable JDG Lock:
  1. Select "JetDrive Go" from the Main Menu.

  2. Select "Disk Lock" from JetDrive Go Page.

  3. Enter the password you have previously set. Select "Unlock".

  4. After the unlock process is completed, un-plug and then re-plug JetDrive Go back into your Mac.
